Concrete Polishing
-
Polished concrete floors are a popular flooring option known for their durability, low maintenance, and modern aesthetic. As a sustainable flooring option, they utilize the existing foundation or subfloor, eliminating the need for lots of materials which makes them both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
With proper maintenance, these floors can last for generations. Additionally, polished concrete isn’t limited to just floors—we also specialize in creating stunning polished cement countertops and tabletops that add a sleek and robust touch to any home.
-
Polishing concrete is a multi-step process that transforms a standard concrete floor into a smooth, shiny surface with a high-end finish. The process begins with grinding the concrete using coarse diamond-embedded discs to remove imperfections, stains, and any existing coatings. Once the surface is leveled and smoothed, progressively finer grits of diamonds are used to refine the texture, gradually honing the concrete to the desired level of shine. During this stage, a densifier is applied to harden the concrete, making it more durable and enhancing its ability to take a high polish.
The final step involves a series of polishing passes with very fine grits, giving a glossy, mirror-like finish. Depending on the desired look, a sealer or stain can be applied to enhance the color and protect the surface. The result is a sleek, low-maintenance floor that is both visually striking and highly durable. Depending on the size of the project, this process takes 2-5 days from start to finish.

Concrete Coatings
-
Concrete coatings are the ideal choice when you want a robust and durable flooring system, with a decorative aesthetic appeal. We offer a wide variety of coatings to cover all functional and design needs, including flake and color chip epoxy, popular for their attractive texture and quality. Concrete coatings are most commonly used in garages, healthcare facilities, food service environments, and industrial zones due to their ability to withstand harsh conditions with little maintenance for up to 20 years. Additionally, we are able to shape stunning transition coves to seamlessly integrate the floor into the wall.
-
The installation process typically begins with grinding the top layer of the concrete to remove all laitance and contaminants so as to provide a suitable surface profile for optimal bonding. Once the surface is prepared, voids and joints are filled, and any excess patch material is removed, leaving the floor ready for coating.
Next, the chosen coating material, such as epoxy or polyurethane, is mixed according to the manufacturer’s instructions and applied in layers. This application can be done using brushes, rollers, or sprayers, depending on the type of coating and the specific requirements of the project. Multiple coats may be necessary to achieve the desired thickness and finish, with each layer typically needing time to cure before the next is applied. Once all the layers are in place, the final step may involve adding a topcoat or sealer to enhance the coating’s durability, resistance to wear, and overall appearance. The result is a breathtaking floor that's built to last.

GRIND & SEAL
-
The grind and seal process is a popular method for enhancing and protecting concrete floors, offering a durable and visually appealing finish. A grind and seal is typically performed when you want to rejuvenate an existing concrete floor or when a durable, low-maintenance finish is desired without the higher cost of full polishing. It's a versatile option for both residential and commercial spaces, offering a balance between aesthetics and protection. It has the benefits of improved resistance to stains and moisture while requiring less maintenance than untreated concrete.
-
The process begins with grinding the concrete surface using progressively finer diamond-embedded discs to remove any imperfections, stains, or old coatings. This step creates a smooth, even surface, exposing the natural aggregate or creating a polished look, depending on the desired finish. After grinding, the surface is thoroughly cleaned to remove any dust or debris, ensuring the sealant adheres properly.
Next, a sealant is applied to the ground concrete, which can be a penetrating sealer or a topical coating, depending on the level of protection and the type of finish desired. The sealant protects the concrete from moisture, stains, and wear, enhancing the floor’s durability and longevity. The sealant also brings out the color and texture of the concrete, giving it a richer, more vibrant appearance.
